Between November 27 and December 4, 2016, nine people from The Netherlands went to Shefa’amr, a little town in the North of Israel/Palestine, halfway between Haifa and Nazareth. There they worked with seven young people from the area and one Israeli participant of an earlier workshop. Aim was to work with a combination of stories and music, leading towards a presentation on Friday the 2nd of December. The workshops were hosted by Beit Almusica, the local conservatory and the Dutch participants were welcomed by the Palestinian participants and their families.
On this website, the participants share their experiences, in English, Dutch and Arabic.
This journey is the first step in a continuing collaboration between youth of Shefa’amr and The Netherlands. More exchanges will follow, all starting from both stories and music. However, ideas for a documentary and a touring performance are also already developed. We keep you updated on this website!
